“Kabeer paapi bhagat na bhaawe, Har puja na suhaai.
Maakhi chandan parhare, je beegand te jaai”.
Kabir ji says a sinful person doesn’t like the company of a worshipper nor does he relish the worshipping of the Lord. He compares a sinful person with a flea that forgoes the company of a sandalwood tree and instead relishes a stinking and filthy place.
Guru Nanak says “Hum avgunn bhare, ek gunn naahi. Amrit chaadh bhike bhik khaai”. “ I’am full of follies and have not a single merit within me for I am discarding the Nectar and chasing objects which are poisonous in nature”.
We need to have the blessings of a Master Guru with which we can differentiate between good and bad. At the surface level what may appear to be good may in fact turn out to be bad in the days to come and vice-versa.
Hence, we need to pray to the Lord to bless us with a foresighted vision to choose the right company, to follow the right path in order to reach the correct destination of true happiness.

“Kabeer hardi peertan hare, na chian chun rahai;
“Kabeer hardi peertan hare, na chian chun rahai;
Balhaari eh preet kau, jih jaat baran kul jaai”.
Kabeer ji says that turmeric helps in eradicating the pain from a wound and lime helps in removing the mark of the wound (scars). He says that he is a sacrifice to both turmeric and lime for joining hands in a partnership benefiting the wounded. In doing so both turmeric and lime lose their own identity by all means.
Just like a candle burns its own self to spread light; a seed gives rise to a sapling only after losing its own basic structure, similarly we the human beings can become one with the God only after shedding off our egoistic nature. Success can be achieved only through sacrifice. It is also well said and understood, ‘No pain, no gain’.
