How to Dress up and Carry yourself well

“ How to dress up and carry yourself well”

Dressing appropriately and carrying ourselves well is both good and necessary for both men and women.
I’m not a connoisseur of dressing but at least I have learnt in all these years that I have lived (more than 5 decades now) that dressing appropriately and carrying ourselves well is important in our lives.

Few of the essential elements that we need to adhere to for dressing appropriately well are :
·       Our dress should fit us well. They should be neither too large nor too small for our size.
·       Colour and design of our dress should be befitting to the place and occasion we are going to.
·       Our dress should be neat and well ironed.
·       Our dress should be age appropriate.
·       We may have less number of dresses for ourselves but under no circumstances the quality of the clothes should be compromised.
·       Foot wear is also part of dressing well. Hence care should be taken to wear appropriate footwear which should be a decent and comfortable one.
·       School students should take pride in wearing their uniforms.

Men need to know the following:-
·       Sports shoes do not fall under ‘formal’ wear so the same should be avoided by all means when they go to their work place unless your job is related to sports.
·       One can’t wear a suit with sports shoes.
·       It is compulsory to wear formal shoes along with suits. Otherwise it will be considered inappropriate wear by those who understand what ‘dressing’ means.
·       Never go to your work place in slippers/sandals.
·        T-shirts how-so-ever good they may be come under informal wear.
·       It is always better if out of trousers and the shirt one is light in colour and the other dark.
·       If you are wearing a full sleeve shirt to your work place as a formal wear never roll back your sleeves.
·       Always ensure that your sleeves are buttoned at work place.
·       The shirt should always be tekked into the trousers at the work place.
·       Always carry a fresh, neat and clean handkerchief in your pocket.
·       Keep the handkerchief in front of your nose if you have to sneeze. This will reflect your good upbringing.

It will not be inappropriate to say that the dressing for men is merely essential but for a woman it is ornamental in nature.
Dresses of woman are of for more variety and colours than those of men.
Women look good and more beautiful when they wear their dresses which are suiting their body structure and are age appropriate.
Women may wear sarees, salwar kameez and even western apparels to their work place for all of them can be clubbed under formal wear provided they are appropriate and elegant. Women of sense should be able to recognise the thin line that differentiate between formal and informal wears for all these three apparels i.e. sarees, slawar kameez and western clothes.

Installation of CCTV Cams/ Microphones and Speakers

'Installation of CCTV Cameras / Microphones & Speakers'

With 126 CCTV Cameras along with Microphones and 86 Speakers installed in the school's campus we feel one of our great dreams has come true.

Long before when the school had started functioning in 1998 the need of keeping the classrooms and the campus was not felt to be necessary.  But with the numerous untoward instances taking place in various schools throughout the country as well as abroad it became necessary to keep everything under watch.

With the installation of the above Cameras, Microphones and the Speakers over all functioning of the school has improved.

Children are more or less found well settled inside their classes specially during the time when the subject teachers exchange / shift from one class to another.  They behave well in the corridors and on the play grounds.

Now it is rare to find a teacher sitting inside the classroom.

Various important announcements / instructions are instantly put across through the speakers with lots of ease.

It is possible to communicate with individual sections also through the Speakers and watch the students & staff while doing so.

CCTV Cameras are also useful in helping us to monitor the cleanliness of the whole campus including the terraces of the school buildings.

We are extremely thankful to the NCL management and our Chairman, Mr. V.K. Shunglu (Chairman, DPS Society, New Delhi) for permitting us to install the CCTV Camera, Microphones and the Speakers.

Tera Bhanna Meetha Laage

One thing that we always need to pray and wish for our own self is that we should never lose hope. Even when the entire world appears to be dark and negative we need to have faith in God and trust Him.
"Tera Bhanna Metha Laage Har Naam Padarath Nanak Mange."
We need to believe in the Lord.  Whatever He does is sweet and we need to seek His Name to provide us strength.
It is by His blessings that we come to know that the darkest night too has a dawn;
It is through His blessings we can see the light across the tunnel;
It is through His knowledge we learn to see the silver lining in the turbulant clouds.

'Hua' Vs 'Haua'

'Hua' Vs 'Haua'
There are people who believe in completing their tasks with no hue and cry.  They love to convey to their colleagues or seniors that their task(s) is / are done with ('Hua').
On the other hand we have people who have the tendency to create a mountain our of mole ('Haua').
You need to decide which category of the person would prefer to be recognized with.  You want your colleagues, boss to recognize you to be a person who will do his job with no fuss or the one who will create a 'Haua' out of it ? The choice is yours.

"Saach Kaho Sun Le Sabhe Jin Prem Kiyo Tin Hi Prabh Paayo"

Howsoever we may try to churn the water, we may at the maximum see some bubbles or foams but we will never be able to get 'ghee' from it. We can never convert water into tasty butter. We can never attain smoothness from churning the water nor can we get strength from it.

This will come only when the milk is churned.

Similarly without true love and devotion all visible formalities that we may perform, meditation that we may do or knowledge that we may gain are in vain.

We can never get peace and pleasure out of this. Hence, true love and devotion is a must .

While preparing sugar syrup for the sweets the cook sprinkles milk in it which helps all the impurities to settle down. Similarly in all are religion, tasks, meditation and efforts we need to sprinkle love and devotion which will help the impurities of our mind to get washed away and we will be blessed to see the light of knowledge.

Santa Claus Concept

One of the biggest lies that is told to the little ones in the whole world must be about Santa Claus.  But it is also one of the cutest and sweetest one.  Children really look forward to the gifts that Santa would bring for them.  The carols sung during the Christmas time convey so many lessons for the kids to pick up.  The best carol ever in this regard that we were taught to sing in the school by none other than our beloved Anoop Ambrose Sir, Robert Sir and Ralf Sir was :

"Hey you better watch out
You better not pout
You better not cry
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming today.
He sees you when you are sleeping
He knows when you are awake
He knows if you been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake."

The first stanza prepares the ground by warning the child that it will be futile on his part to unnecessarily pout or cry because Santa won't like to see him doing so.

So if one wants Santa to bring for him, his desired gift he needs to better follow the instructions and stay happy.

In the second stanza I remember when I used to sing it in class III way back in 1973 - 74 I used to understand the fact that the writer of the carol has been clever to let us (the kids) know that Santa comes down to see us when we are asleep and knows when we are 'awake'.  So this way no question rises that why we can't see Santa.

The writer further also tells us that like a super magician Santa knows whether we have been bad or good throughout the year.  Because of this we as kids would surely try to follow all good habits in order to impress him.

I feel this one lie must have helped millions of kids in the entire world to follow the right path.  Why can't people of different faiths follow the same technique with their own kids by using their won Gods and characters ?

Giving up on Milk Bottle by Babies

When Lying is Good !

Giving up of Milk Bottle by my Daughter :

As every other child my daughter Navleen Kaur too at the age of around 2 and a half years loved her milk bottle and was reluctant to give it up.

My wife Rina and me had to do little bit of planning so as to get her give up her milk bottle.
Once when we had gone to the NTPC Hospital Jamnipali I had requested one of my friends (I'm unable to recall his name) who was working as a Pharmacist in the hospital to ask us to submit the milk bottle when we would go to him to get the medicines in the presence of my daughter.

So when he did so he specifically conveyed to Navleen Kaur that she needs to submit the milk bottle next time to which she had agreed. When we went to the hospital next we remembered to carry all her milk bottles in a bag and had pretended at the medicine counter that they were submitted.

From that day onwards she never demanded to drink milk from the bottle.

Thankfully in those days online shopping wasn't as rampant as these days.  Else I'm sure at around 2.5 or 3 she would have suggested to order for the milk bottle through Amazon or Flipcart !
